Route 19

Route 19 winds along the western coast of Cape Breton Island. Up and down the 106 kilometre stretch you’ll find communities like Troy, Creignish, Judique, Mabou and Inverness—communities where Cape Breton’s music lives and breathes. Popularly known as the Ceilidh Trail, everyone has a connection along Route 19 and the Ceilidh Trail has spawned just that; many ceilidhs, and many fantastic musicians and performers. Ashley is from Creignish, and Mary Elizabeth now calls West Mabou home. Donnell Leahy’s mother was raised just down the road in Broad Cove, and Mac Morin is from Troy, two seconds from Creignish. The dancers in Fileanta are spread out up and down the county in Foot Cape, Port Hawkesbury, Troy and Mabou. And they’ll all come together for a ceilidh tonight in Inverness. Hosted by Inverness Academy (Student Council)

Venue - Inverness Education Centre / Academy - 59 Veterans Memorial Court, Inverness, NS, Canada
