Friday October 13th 7:30 PM - St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church - Sydney Mines
We’ll be celebrating hometown roots tonight in the majestic St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, renowned as both a place of worship and host to musical performances throughout the year.
Hometown favourites, singer-singwriter Bruce Guthro and multi-instrumentalist, songwriter Stewart MacNeil, were born and raised in this former mining town.
Bruce has travelled the world as a much sought after vocalist, currently fronting the Scottish folk-rock band Runrig, while Stewart delights audiences worldwide through his accordion playing, steps and songs alongside his siblings in The Barra MacNeils.
Roots also run deep for fiddling cousins Rodney MacDonald and Glenn Graham, who will share some spirited dance tunes, and Scottish singer Paul McKenna, whose hometown roots may seem pretty far off, will prove to be more familiar than we thought.
